Envera has awarded the Dis-Friendly Seal -friends of people with disabilities- to the Madrid Convention Bureau for promoting social sustainability and integral accessibility through congress tourism, one of the sectors that contributes most to the city. The distinction was collected during the MCB's General Assembly, held this morning at the Palacio de Cibeles, from the Madrid City Council's Tourism Delegate, Almudena Maíllo, by Envera's CEO, Enrique Grande, accompanied by people with intellectual disabilities who regularly work as support staff at events.

"Envera awards Madrid Convention Bureau the Dis-Friendly Seal in recognition of its commitment to social responsibility, equality, dignity and inclusion of people with disabilities, which is also for the competitiveness and innovation of Madrid as a destination. Today we celebrate, without a doubt, one more step towards a more attractive, competitive, inclusive and accessible Madrid", explained Grande.

The Dis-Friendly Seal distinguishes this municipal organization and the efforts of all its employees, "with David Noack leading a team of professionals of the stature of Jorge Treceño, and the City of Madrid, with Mayor José Luis Martínez Almeida at the helm, for reinforcing the importance of building reference spaces where empathy and hospitality in a diverse and global world are the calling card of Madrid, open to the world.

Treceño, Legacy manager of the MCB, explained during the Assembly, which was attended by the main companies and agencies in the MICE sector (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions), that three reference guides have been published to help companies generate social impact and sustainability in their events.

In fact, the MCB is a pioneering entity with its Directory of social entitiesThe MCB has set a milestone by increasing the portfolio of opportunities for companies interested in coming to Madrid with a social impact proposal, which focuses on the "Madrid" brand, welcoming and supportive.

"A directory that is a radical commitment to inclusion and social sustainability, a differentiating reality that contributes to the competitiveness of our city against the rest of the world's capitals". According to Envera's general manager, "this guide makes Madrid a benchmark among all the world's capitals in terms of comprehensive accessibility and social responsibility".

The General Assembly of the Madrid Convention Bureau itself has been an example of inclusion and integral accessibility, with Envera's events staff with disabilities integrated into the Best Way Events team.

Maíllo, who as delegate of Tourism also holds the presidency of the MCB, wanted to "thank Envera for the effort it makes to include people with disabilities and for this Dis-Friendly Seal, which is an example for all entities that develop MICE tourism in the city of Madrid. Thanks to Envera and to people with disabilities for making our events, in addition to being a great economic contribution to the city, have above all heart. That is what ultimately defines our work".

The Madrid Convention Buerau in the capital joins other organizations that already have the Envera Dis-Friendly Seal, such as Iberia or the Itevelesa Network in the Community of Madrid.
